UPS & USPS Rate Increases


2009 Carrier Rate Changes
New UPS rates take effect January 5, 2009 and new USPS rates on January 18, 2009. Good news: USPS® is introducing a new, smaller Priority Mail flat-rate box for the same rate as a flat-rate envelope. This new service will be added as an option late January, 2009.

Motorola Field Service Bulletin - FSB10277

SUBJECT: Remote Speaker Microphones used with XTS1500/2500/5000, MT1500, PR1500 MTS2000, MT2000, HT/JT1000, MTX8000/9000 and MTX838 series units – Multiple issues as described in the symptoms area below.

MODEL / SYSTEM AFFECTED:
Microphone Kits: PMMN4051A, PMMN4038A, PMN4045A and NMN6193BSP03
Replacement Cables: 0104026J83, 0104028J67, 0104023J42 and 0104010J70
All suspect microphones or replacement cables will have date codes or 8482 or prior

SYMPTOMS:
All of the symptoms below have been reported or observed as an out of box failures on microphones or replacement cables with date codes 8482 or prior
  1. Accessory will not attach to the radio, the hook on the radio connector breaks off or the radio connector is not fully assembled.
  2. The accessory will attach to the radio, but will not stay connected latched to the radio
  3. The accessory attaches to the radio, but has no receive audio or intermittent / no transmit push-to-talk is observed.
CAUSE:
For symptoms 1 and 2: Improper assembly of the radio connector and latch were the causes
For symptom 3: Incorrect wiring inside the radio connector is the cause.

RESOLUTION:
Units exhibiting the above listed symptoms should be replaced via standard warranty replacement practices.

Note: It is recommended that if any spare unit stock be inspected and tested. Any defective units found should be replaced to minimize user downtime.

SEVERITY RECOMMENDATION:
Low - Perform when system exhibits above symptoms

PARTS REQUIRED (HARDWARE/SOFTWARE):
Replacement part for any found to be defective.
